The game
Hertfordshire's eighth national final, against the holders Stirling Clansmen at Allianz Park in Hendon on 21 March 2015, ended in a heavy 46–6 defeat. Jim Messenger's side had recovered from a season-opening shutout at Birmingham to win every game after that, including the return fixture against the Lions, and had won 19–14 at Durham in the semi-final. They were going for a sixth national title.
A strong wind shaped the opening exchanges. A Stirling punt pinned Hertfordshire on their own three-yard line, and the punt back into the wind went only a few yards. Hertfordshire then forced and recovered a fumble, but a James Cunningham pass bounced off Tarren Patel and was intercepted by Ashley Hopkinson. Grant Isdale scored on a jet sweep, and KB Asiedu broke a 49-yard run for 13–0.
Hertfordshire's best spell came next. They put together a long, patient drive, helped by Stirling penalties, converted on fourth down with a slant to Patel, and scored when Cunningham found Varman Ratnakumaran with a quick pass to make it 13–6. That was as close as they got. Isdale scored again before the break, and the second half went badly wrong. Hertfordshire's first play was intercepted and returned for a touchdown, Stirling hit a deep pass for another, and Isdale ran back a fourth interception for a score. Jacob Nunnerly replaced Cunningham at quarterback, but he too was intercepted and Isdale scored once more.
Stirling's Isdale, with three rushing touchdowns and an interception return, was named MVP as the Clansmen retained the title.
